FAQs

What is your rescheduling/cancellation and refund policy for classes?

Try-It Classes/Monthly Workshops: Cancellation and/or rescheduling needs to happen within 48 hours of your class time. Anything outside of this window will be subject to a partial refund.

Beginner/Intermediate Classes: Cancellation and/or rescheduling needs to happen within one week of class start date. Anything outside of this window will be subject to a partial refund.

If you do not contact us and miss your class entirely, no refund will be given.

These policies are in place because we schedule all of our classes in advance and are therefore anticipating the costs that go into each of them based on the spots that are filled. Last minute changes don't allow for us to adjust these costs, and the spot that opens up if you decide to reschedule or cancel does not have adequate time to be filled again.

What should I wear for a pottery wheel class?

Wear comfortable clothes & shoes that you don't mind getting a little messy. The clay will splatter sometimes, but it will come out of most clothing, most of the time. For folks with long hair, bring something to tie your hair up, as having it down while the wheel is spinning may create a hazard.

When will my pottery from my class/private lesson/class series/when I came in to paint be ready for pick-up?

Please give us 3-4 weeks for all pottery made in the studio to be turned around for pick-up. We will contact you via text message when it is ready!

How do I book a private event?

Please reach out with as much detail as possible (size of your party, range of desired availability, intention for the class) via the contact form here.

We need at least two weeks advance notice to accommodate any private event requests due to demand. A deposit of half of your total cost will be due upon booking to reserve your spot, with the other half being due on the date of the event. The max headcount for private events is 24.

Can I just walk-in and use the pottery wheel?

Maybe, but likely, no. If you have proficient experience on the pottery wheel and are self-sufficient in a studio setting as it concerns all aspects of pottery wheel throwing (familiarity with tools, wedging clay, trimming pottery, clean-up procedures, etc.), then you can purchase an Open Studio Pass. If not, then you can't walk-in and use the wheel. You are probably best suited to take a Try-It Class to learn the ins and outs of wheel throwing!

Can I walk-in to paint pottery, or do I need an appointment?

You do not need an appointment to paint pottery! The only stipulation is that you cannot come during one of our classes. That schedule can be viewed here.

Is there an age limit to throwing on the wheel, and if so, why?

For our normal Try-It Class or for an Open Studio Pass, yes, there is an age limit, that being 14+. The reason for this is that pottery wheel throwing can be physically demanding and is a learned skill. For a limited time only, we are offering a kids' Try-It Class, for ages 8-14. Some other options for children under the age of 14 are booking a Private Lesson, Hand-Building, or painting a piece of ready-to-paint pottery.

Are there any spots available in a class if I can't book when I click "Book Now"?

No, this means that day's class is sold-out. Depending on the class type, you can select the amount of people in your party, and the booking widget will you show you the available dates.
